Emma holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and Politics from the Copenhagen Business School. Her passion for driving social change has led her to engage in several initiatives focusing on sustainable development and social change. Prior to joining Ashoka, Emma was part of establishing a sustainability-consulting firm in Stockholm, where she spent most of her time managing a business network which gathered business leaders to learn and act around climate change. In 2014 she led Sweden’s largest sustainability initiative for youth, empowering over 10.000 high-school students to act as changemakers in their local communities. During her studies Emma co-founded a student driven consulting organization supporting NGO’s and social enterprises to improve their social impact. Besides Sweden and Denmark, she has lived and worked in the UK, France and Ecuador.
Christina joined Ashoka in April 2013 as the first Operations Manager in the Scandinavian office. She has since then constructed the regions Operations including building the team and structuring the legal framework and financial routines for the region. Christina’s main area of expertise are within HR and operations and since 2016 she splits her time leading HR, and finance in Scandinavia with two global roles as co-integrator and Search Liason for Europe. Christina has a long history working with NGO’s both as a volunteer, board member and an employee including The Swedish Red Cross, Friends and Doctors of the World. Joined Ashoka in 2019 & I am responsible for Operations and Finance for Ashoka's offices in Sweden, Norway and Finland. I have long history of leading global teams as program Manager in a leading telecom vendor. Key strengths are to bring efficiency in work flows and leading teams in difficult customer situations. Since last 6 years, I have developed keen interest in what creates a social impact which lead me to Ashoka.
A Swedish national, with Polish roots, educated in South Korea and with 10 years of working experience in Thailand, Korea and Singapore.
Nathalie spearheaded the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) Young Leaders Programme between 2014-2016. She also led the ASEF Education Policy Program between 2017-2018.
Nathalie has also worked with social enterprises in Thailand and South Korea in the area of digital and participatory public health, gamification and education, creative development among visually impaired and local-led tourism.
She graduated from Kyung Hee University (Seoul, South Korea) summa cum laude. Her dissertation examined the practices and perceptions of Social Impact Assessments (SIA) and social accountability among Thai social enterprises and impact investors.
When Nathalie is off duty there is a high probability that you will find her in a wet-suit submerged and immersed in exploring the sea - once upon a time a synchronised swimmer, today a diver.
Sarah joined Ashoka in 2019, coming a position responsible for developing an affordable housing policy for Oslo municipality. Before that she was involved in a public sector neighborhood development project, working hands-on with grassroots social entrepreneurship and participatory processes; this included establishing a community incubator model, now replicated to other areas of Norway. She has been involved in building the social innovation ecosystem in Norway since 2010 when she was Director of the British Council.
Sarah previously founded a Norwegian human rights film festival, worked with UNEP capacity building programmes, helped develop Oslo University's innovation strategy and spent some time as a feature writer for a documentary film magazine. Geology forms the bedrock of Sarah's career: she was an academic lecturer with her own research group in the UK before she moved to Norway in 1996. She grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland.
I joined the Ashoka UK office as a volunteer in March 2019 and am currently the Venture Europe championer for Fellow candidates from the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics.
Prior to joining Ashoka, I was a teacher in San Francisco, Shanghai, Doha, and London.
